Memorial Day: Why We Remember

What is Memorial Day?

A federal holiday? A day off? Time to fish, camp, have fun? For many, Memorial Day's a time to relax and enjoy the sun. To spend time with family and friends in the place they call home, and that's just fine.
In fact, believe it or not, that's what the people honored on Memorial Day sacrificed their lives for. They died so we could fly to Las Vegas or fish in the mountains. Or simply stay at home and eat hamburgers.
One day each year this nation pays tribute to the cost for its freedom...your freedom. Each life lost is unique and should not taken for granted. It is cherished. And as the price tag continues to climb, never forget.

Freedom is not free.

Just as lives are sacrificed for your freedom on this earth, Jesus paid with His life for your eternal soul on Calvary. Don't miss your chance to spend eternity with Him. He's waiting for you today.

Their sacrifice may have been the price but our freedom is the reward.
