The Lord changed that place deep in your soul. You’re a Christian. The closet’s lined with a brand new wardrobe, and the trash can’s filled with nasty habits. Instead of sleeping in on Sunday morning, you attend church services. But now you have a choice to make.
Will you be content to lounge in the pew for the prescribed doses of worship and lessons each week? Or will the knowledge you gain continue beyond the doors? And if so, how?
The Apostle Paul talks about spreading the word in his letter to Timothy.

2 Tim 4:2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
Now wait a second…it’s not as easy as you think or is it? How do you get prepared? Prayer, bible study, discipleship, Sunday School, devotionals…sink yourself into the Word of God and surround yourself with His presence. Get to know your Best Friend and never let Him go. Ever.
When you’re ready—after all, no one can share her faith if she doesn’t understand it—go for it. Remember what Paul said? Correct, rebuke and encourage.
- Correct: to make or set right…to point out for amendment of error or fault.
- Rebuke: to criticize sharply…to turn back or keep down
- Encourage: to inspire with courage, spirit, or hope…to spur on
Did you notice the leash on the flesh in this verse? The method…
What am I talking about? Since God knows mankind has little control over his tongue and even less over emotions, He’s provided a way…again. So, how can you to share your faith? With the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Listen to Him.
- Pray long and hard if you need to correct.
- If you need to rebuke, listen to the still, small voice before uttering a word.
- Evaluate, and judge according to His Word and encourage the worthy actions with joy.
As Christians, we’ve been given a commission…to share the Good News. This world’s hungry for Christ, but many fellow brothers and sisters are floundering. So...temper your words with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and share your faith. The Lord wants to change someone!
